From the heart of Kyoto to the laneways of Melbourne, Chef Motokichi – the global sensation behind Kichi Kichi’s viral omurice – will once again join forces with Ishizuka’s Executive Chef Katsuji Yoshino for a unique and theatrical culinary collaboration.
For three days only, from Thursday 6 to Saturday 8 November, guests will experience Chef Motokichi’s signature omurice live, a viral phenomenon celebrated for its mesmerising presentation and deeply comforting flavours. The dish will be served alongside a beautifully balanced three-course kaiseki menu, thoughtfully crafted by Chef Yoshino to honour the traditions of Japanese fine dining while celebrating Australia’s seasonal bounty.

Following a sold-out appearance in 2024 and earlier this year, Chef Motokichi returns with his inimitable flair and charisma, offering diners not just a meal, but a moment, the gentle slice of an omurice omelette as it unfurls over fried rice, the theatrical gestures, the energy, the emotion. Combined with Ishizuka’s refined service, elegant setting, and precise kaiseki philosophy, this event promises a one-of-a-kind dining experience, where performance meets tradition, and flavours tell a story.
